As a chiropractic patient, you have had first-hand experience with the short term effects of chiropractic care. Most of these effects deal with the alleviation of some sort of symptoms. However, did you know that a recent study published in the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research showed that long term chiropractic care has possible anti-aging effects. What’s also intriguing is this study showed these effects on a biochemical level. The researchers measured the activity of DNA repair enzyme activity, which is important to repair and restore your bodies cells. In this study, people who had been under chiropractic care for two years or more were found to have a higher activity of this process, meaning that their cells were doing a better job of dealing with normal stress and recuperating much more efficiently. This is just another example of the effects of proper spinal nerve function.
